Who is the one to tell what is right?

English:
I have been thinking about something since yesterday. I got a comment for this blogpost, and it made me think a lot. A lot!
This person was argueing about why to take the choice yourself and give your child a CI. One of the arguments were: Every human should have a chance to use its fully potential. <– This one occupied my thoughts for a while.
Because, what is a human’s full potential? Is it being hearing? Is that a full potential of a human?
What about using the full potential of a deaf person? Being able to sign.. Being able to talk with deaf people across borders without problems, even though we don’t know each other’s sign languages.. Being able to express ourselves in a way the majority of the world isn’t capable to do. And yet deaf people are just as intellectual as hearing people. They are capable to do everything as hearing people, except from hear. Is it that bad? Many deaf people have a some hearing left, so they can enjoy music. Those who might be considered profoundly deaf, may still enjoy the beats from music. The feeling of the music and the poetry in the text.

Aren’t deaf people using their full potential?

Who is the one to tell what is right?
Let me elaborate with an example:
Deaf person discussing with a hearing person about which ‘world’ is the best.
The deaf person knows all about being deaf, but nothing about being hearing. The hearing person knows all about being hearing, but not deaf.
So it’s two people discussing from two very different views. And here is the thing: They will never agree. They have knowledge from their own ‘world’ but not the other’s world. And even though both can tell why their ‘world’ is the best, they won’t be able to understand each other. Because, how do we know which one is better than the other one when you can’t try it out yourself?

So tell me, who is the one to tell what is right? I can try: Nothing and everything is right. You are right about yourself, but it doesn’t mean that you’re right about the other person.

Finally I would like to tell that this is my and only my opinion which was triggered by the comment to the other blog. I’m not trying to insult or attack anyone. But there should be space for my view in life too.
