I have been chuckling for the last hour pretty much. And that’s because I’m reading the book: American Ways by Gary Althen.

I have to quote this: “some foreigners believe that topics more complex than weather, sports, or social lives are beyond the Americans’ ability to comprehend”

I am one of them! (but lately I met some Americans who actually are able to talk about topics more complex than weather and than kind of stuff. But I still believe that they are exceptional.)

Let me finish the quote: “foreigners should keep in mind that this is the communication style that Americans are accustomed to; it does not necessarily reflect their level of intelligence.”

Well that was what I thought.. I’d better give Americans another chance.

Well, for any internationals going to the U.S. Read this book. It’s for your benefit!
